MIDWIVES INFORMATION:

Midwives are an excellent alternative to traditional prenatal care by an OBGYN.  They are licensed by the state health department and offer very personalized and nurturing care to pregnant women and their families.  Midwives also provide an opportunity to receive this care without requiring insurance coverage or enormous expenses.  Home birth and an entire 10 months of prenatal care with a midwife can cost as little as $2600!  Moms that are choosing prenatal care with midwives are taking charge of their birth experience and taking action to move the natural process of birth out of hospitals where costly medical interventions are causing the c-section rate to skyrocket in the U.S.  If you are thinking about choosing home birth and a midwife, here are some very helpful websites and other resources to assist you in this important life decision.
